Test engineer QA for Device Twin
Rockwell Automation is looking for an innovative engineer to join a new team of software developers located in Prague and Cleveland, USA. We are looking for new colleagues with experience or a strong interest in the design and implementation of software projects in Cloud targeting the area of industrial automation products. The team will follow the Scrum methodology. Everyone in team assignments includes participation in requirements development, architectural design, coding, documentation, and testing of software. In this role, you will have more responsibilities as developer engineer in test who can creating code to automated testing. In this role, you will have the opportunity to grow your career in software development by solving challenging problems using modern technologies, tools, and practices.
Your responsibilities will be:
- Work on a software project with a focus on the design and development of Services related to Digital Twin covering Industrial Automation devices and their secure distribution to adopter’s products on the Cloud
- Review functional requirements and design documents, incorporate understanding into comprehensive test plans and Test Cases
- Develop, maintain and enhance test tools and automation testing frameworks; Create tests to simulate intended scenarios, topologies and conditions. Setup test environment, software, test scripts, networks and use them for testing.
- Perform automated and manual tests, Participate in feature and functional testing, unit testing, regression, load, and performance testing
- Benchmark various metrics, across releases/platforms, to ensure quality and high performance.
- Work with developers and other teams to understand the impact of an individual changes and identify the testing required to effectively verify the change.
- Verify and validate the software using System/functional/stress testing techniques.
- Use modern continuous integration and development tools, and promote continuous improvement of engineering tools and practices
- Participate as a member of an agile team within the Agile Framework
Our Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or equivalent knowledge in the application of software engineering principles, theories, concepts, and techniques
- Ideally Both Czech and English language
- Understands Dev QA concepts including utilization of tools and test frameworks, load tests, stress tests and performance testing, etc.
- TypeScript experience in a professional setting and at least intermediate knowledge of scripting (e.g. Python, Shell) or programming (e.g., C, C++, Rust) and 5+ years of experience as software QA (engineer).
- Ability to use and create test automation scripts and/or test automation frameworks
- Solid testing/diagnosing/debugging skills and a desire for a deep down analysis and understanding
- Experience in Cloud development
- Experience with Cloud applications connectivity is an advantage
- Experience with Ditto, Hono by
Eclipse.org
is an advantage
- Experience with app containerization such as AKS (advantage)
- Experience in working with globally distributed teams is an advantage
